Charlie: Before & After Groomers

We're taking Charlie for his first hair cut next week so I thought I'd share some pictures before and after for everyone.

Oh, he has such a cute fuzzy face! How much are you having cut? I've decided just to have them trim Gracie a bit but am leaving her fur long. She still sleeps under my blanket at night. She gets cold with no undercoat.

I think we're just going to get him trimmed a bit as well, he just looks too cute to let it all go yet! But he definitely needs some cleaning up! His hair is out of control some days, I always say he looks like he's been living on the streets after he wakes up with crazy bed head lol
I'm just a little worried because I have a doctors appointment that morning so my boyfriend will be dropping him off at the groomers without me; I'm afraid he won't tell them anything and let them do whatever they want! Haha

He is a cutie. They are so prescious. I had Angel name picked out but I thought about calling her precious than decided not to. He has the shih tzu hair doesn't he. So does Angel. It's funny how they are so much alike and different from each other.

Oh Kate, I would call ahead if someone else is dropping you baby off for you. I have heard too many horror stories about bad haircuts. If you can call and talk to the groomer ahead of time you may save yourself some grief.

Better yet, download a pic of a similar dog with a haircut you like, and tell the groomer you want that.  My dog ended up with his face a way I just did not like when he was little.  I should have brought in a picture.

Oh yeah, I have talked to my boyfriend about it and he said he would feel more comfortable if he brought in a picture, so we have found a few we like and I think he knows what we're wanting now. I'm also going to write it down for him in case he forgets lol. I'm not too worried now, I hear she does a great job, she wasn't even taking new clients but we were referred so we got in. Hopefully thats a good sign!

I'm sure we will see a difference when he has been groomed. When I first got Toby done my husband hated but the next time I asked my groomer not to cut him to short and she did such a good job. My husband was much happier. The first time she used the clippers and cut him very short but the second time she just used scissors and it looked so much better but it does depend on your dog and how you want him to look. We prefer the shaggy look. Ha Ha Oh bye the way Chrlie looks so handsome in these pics.

Aww your Charlie looks very similar to my Maggie.  I love seeing pictures because it gives me insight into how my baby might look when she is older.  Good luck at the groomers Charlie!!

Thanks! We like the shaggy look as well, but I think once summer hits and the temperature reaches 35+ he might be a bit hot! But we're enjoying the shaggy hair for now

Your dog is adorable.  Ava's hair is very long now too.  Her groomer won't be back until tomorrow and I will call then and make an appointment.  I thought I'd ask for a puppy cut but not too short.  It is very hot here right now 94 today already.  She minds the heat too.  Can't wait till she is groomed especially around the eyes and face.  Also the hair on her paws is way way long. lol

Finally, here are a couple pictures of Charlie after his haircut! Its a bit shorter than I thought I would have liked, but its grown on me and makes it some much easier to groomer, no brushing everyday!

Cute haircut.  Tiko is back at the groomers less than 2 months.  He really hates the heat, anything over 18, so we are skinning him and leaving his long hair on ears and mustasche.  So much for looking handsome, will be in the fall.
