Getting anal glands cleaned

It used to be we never started seeing fleas until August. This year we are already starting to see them. We had a terrible time with ticks last year and they started showing up in the early spring this year. We live in a wooded area and there is tall grass in some areas. I guess that is where ticks like to hang out. I have indoor/outdoor cats and they are the ones that are picking them up. I bought Frontline for fleas and ticks last year and while it worked on the fleas it did not impress the ticks at all. People I have spoken to around here have all said that last year was really bad for ticks. Never used to have them around here. I guess they are getting stronger and more resistant. I have always used Advantage on my dogs for fleas and it works real well and stops the fleas from reproducing in the house unless of course the house is over run. Then you have to really clean them out to begin with.

We also had a terrible time with ticks last year and this year. They said the spray would kill ticks also. I don't like frontline at all. It didn't help our dogs. Let's see how comfrontis helps. If it don't we might try advantage. Also I bought a new vacuum. It said it picks up pet hair. My son and I vacuumed everything today and I can't believe what our other vacuum didn't pick up. Gross! I felt so dirty. Now I feel cleaner.

When we had a flea problem one year I had to take all the cushions off the furniture and vacume and then sprayed Raid for fleas all along the edges under where the cushions go. We sprayed all along the edges of the room because I guess they like to lay eggs in the cracks where the floor meets the wall. We also put moth balls inside the vacume where the dirt goes because they will kill any fleas picked up. Nasty little creatures. Advantage makes a treatment to kill ticks on dogs but not for cats. I wish they would come out with one for cats. They are the ones that pick up ticks.

They sprayed along the baseboards. And on the furniture. Then Dustin and I vacuumed off all the furniture. I also hate ticks and fleas. Can a person really ever get rid of them?

We got rid of what was inside but with the cats being indoor/outdoor they bring them in. Advantage really does do a good job of keeping the house flea free because it stops them from being able to reproduce. Once the flea has been on the body of an animal that has Advantage on it, it can't reproduce.

I cleaned Beaus and it was nasty but he was calm. I would squeeze at 5 and 7 slowwly cause it will shoot out. Has a towel or paper towel ready!

Angel just got her anal glands done. My groomer told me at grooming school they told her not to do it unless it absolutly necessary. But I could tell Angels were bothering her. She was scooting the ground and licking them. I had to go to the town 45 minutes alway for something else and I stopped in at Petsmart and see if they would do it. They worked me in there busy schedule and took her right away. They said she did need it that it came out.
