I have to order my dog food online because I can't get what I want in the area I live in. For now I am making her food while I search for a place online that has both of the brands I want. I never thought it would be so difficult to find a dog food.

I totally understand where you're coming from!  I live in a small town and make a trip (150 miles one way) once a month to buy dog food!!

Raley I have been mixing Blue buffalo with the raw for my two, it's decent stuff.  Not too high in protein.  Just right for the small breed.

Last week I bought some Taste of the Wild.  A good friend of mine suggested it.  So, I bought a small bag and now I'm mixing the three together to give a little variety!

Why arn't vets informed about nutrional puppy foods and the raw diet and other foods. When I had Angel on the raw diet the vet thought that was horrible and told be to her off of it. They should be more informed. I should have mixed another puppy food with it but I'm going to keep her what she's on now so not to change her food again.

I have worked in the human medical field for some years now and I can tell you that human physicians are not trained in nutrition. If any of them know anything about nutrition it is self taught. I imagine vets are about the same. They may have some basic knowledge about nutrition but have more than likely failed to keep up on the latest. Raw is still a feeding method that people differ on. Many are afraid of the animals contracting disease from raw food. It is a possibility if the animal has a disease but if they are using good meat and they know where it is coming from it is unlikely to cause problems. If a dog is doing well on it then it must be good for them.

I was recently informed of a fairly new dog food that is available. It is made by a fairly new company called Brothers Complete and is sold at The Doggy Store in Florida. They have free samples available at thedoggystore.com You can read up on it on brotherscomplete.com. It sounds like what I have been looking for. If only Gracie will eat it. Glad they have samples. Right now they have free shipping also. It is grain free and white potato free. If you go to the brothers website and click on the brothers document you will see a lot of good information if anyone is interested.

Thanks alot. I am going to do that. Now Angel got hold of some of our bigs dogs Wellness Supermix 5 and she likes it. They're real big chunks. I told her no she needs to eat her food. She likes everything in the yard she can get hold of.

That is so funny. My Maltese used to steal the big dog's food, too. I wish Gracie would eat like Sasha did.

Please remember when changing your dogs diet you need to do it gradually. Or you might end up with tummy problems. :'(
