Out first professional grooming
« on: March 10, 2011, 03:58:03 PM »
Me & Kiki had a lot of fun times grooming her, but I am taking her to the groomer on 16th for the first time ever. A bit anxious to see what she will look like ;D! Not that I am a better groomer or anything but I have seen quite a few that did not look like themselves after the grooming. I don't know how she will react either, so I hope she will have fun. She goes at the same time as my other dog, so I will not feel soo bad leaving her for 3 hours there. They will have each other and Polo is very protective of her.  ;D

Awww!  I understand!  Raley has gotten so combative lately when I try and groom him.  I am letting a groomer friend do it for me soon.

I am sure everything will go just fine with your baby!!  Post pics!

I was very unhappy the one time I took Mm to a groomer so now I do it all myself.  Unfortunately, she now has something stuck indelibly to her skin, and I am going to take her to the vet to have it removed, because when I tried, I cut the skin!  Boo Hoo... but I think a groomer would just shave her at the sign of the first mat...

:D Well it was a good grooming. Kiki was so excited when I came to get them! Polo was her guardian as always ::)  They had them in the same cage afterwords as they would not stay in seperate cages.  Kiki looked a bit more round in her face but good. I love them soo much!

That is so cute that they wouldn't stay in separate cages.  I am glad it went well.

Just be sure to let the groomer know exactly what you want done. I have heard too many stories from people who picked up their little darlings and found a new dog with a look that they were not expecting. I have to say that our groomer did a fantastic job. She made Gracie look even more like a Yorkie than she already did. She did all the Yorkie trimming of a long haired Yorkie. Her butt was tidy as were her feet and face. She still had all her hair only neater. Gracie was only 3 pounds at the time of her first groomer visit but she looked adorable and I was so glad to be able to see her beautiful eyes again.

That is soooo true, Ellie.  The first groomer I went to, even though I told her what I wanted, charged 65 and Minnie Mee ended up looking like Rod Stewart.  The second groomer was very receptive and asked me lots of questions and I explained exactly what I wanted, and Minnie Mee ended up looking like Dog Of The Year.  And she charged 45 for this feat!  Just like dogs, we have to let the groomer know who's boss!
