Airlines

Does anyone happen to know who is the cheapest airline to take pets on? I'm going home to Cali for Christmas and am trying to book it according to what's cheapest for me and Stormy. Thanks!

I just looked up Jet Blue's policy about pets, and it says they cost $100 each way, but they will waive the booking fee (no idea how much that is) if a customer is traveling with dog or cat.  It has all kinds of rules about vaccinations, and the pet plus the carrier can't weigh more than 20 lbs.  Also, the pet counts as your one carry one allowance.  Don't know about other airlines, but if you look them up on line, I am sure you can get info.  Good luck.

Mai is right, checking online is the best thing to do.  Check American Airlines.  I fly out of Atlantic City to Florida which is only 2 1/2 hours and they still hit me with a 100 fee each way.  You need to check with your airlines about vaccinations.  NJ and FL don't require any info on them so as long as Jemma was in her carrier all was fine.  Not that they allow you to take the dog out of it.  They are real strict about that.  I was happy I didn't have to get a health certificate.  Also make sure the state doesn't have any quarantine crap.  None should.  Hawaii has a 120 day, can you imagine that?  Each airlines also has it weight limits and carrier rmeasurements and the type accepted.  If you bring a wrong size or type they will not allow your pet on unless you purchase their crate.  Read this about travel, hope it helps a little:

Unfortunately our airlines in Australia don't like animals on the planes so I can't take Toby with me if I fly. They only put them in a special cargo area in the plane. I don't like that idea.
