I've asked her a couple of times what vet she's taking her to, but she hasn't answered me. But I was also asking tons of questions so perhaps she just forgot to answer that. I sent her an e-mail just now asking for references I can contact and the vet's name and phone number. If she's at least taken her to a vet then I think I will go meet her and go with my gut..if not then I think I'm going to have to let this puppy go and keep searching. I will let you guys know how it goes!

How did you guys find your breeders? I e-mailed a couple of people on the AKC Breeder Referral, but I imagine they will all have purebred Yorkies...not that I'm opposed to that, but I got my heart set on a Shorkie bc they just seem cuter to me.

I agree with you that Shorkies are cuter!  :))

I assume that she has taken the dog to the vet, and not just given you the name of her vet.  Ask the vet if the dog has had shots, first of all.  Ask if the dog is healthy, of course.  Ask if she shows any signs of future Shorkie type problems, eyes, hips etc.  If the pup has not had shots, how old is the pup at the moment?  Should have had 1st shots and been dewormed at least a couple of times by 12 weeks.

She's 6 weeks. I'm pretty sure she's had one shot bc she told me I couldn't see her until she had her first shot, but I don't know about any dewormings. I hope the vet is able to answer these questions for me..I don't know if it's like humans and you can't give medical info over the phone, lol.

She's not planning to give you the dog at 6 weeks, though, right!?  Shouldn't get the dog till 12 weeks...

Yeah, she said they can't go home until 12 weeks. I wish it wasn't so hard finding a good breeder :(
