Paw position
« on: July 07, 2010, 08:44:26 AM »
So I noticed that now Max's front paws are positioned outward. So when he's standing or siting his front paws make a V shape. His right paw is more outward then his left. Is this normal? All the dogs I've met their paws are straight and faced forward.

What you are describing is called easty westy.  It is considered a flaw in the breeding but then again we don't have show dogs.  Jemma has a slight V as well but she does just fine!!  Nothing can really be done except to love her, and simply enjoy her.  No special treatment needed.  UNLESS her feet were perfectly straight before and all of a sudden they turned, but I doubt that.
Be kinder than necessary for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Mai Tai has it too, and it is quite pronounced.  Also, his front legs are shorter than his back legs.  Is that also a flaw?

Gee Minnie Mee's paws go inward a little.  Just the front ones!

No worries I love him no matter what. Just wanted to make sure it's not something bad. I think it's actually really cute the way he stands and sit. The only problem I see him having is when he is running fast he kinda trips every now and then.. :-\
