I went for a walk with a friend who told me all the things my little dog does that she finds charming, so I thought I would share some of mine and ask if your dogs do the same:

    1)  when another dog approaches, mm crouches down as if she is going to pounce, and then jumps up wagging her tail as soon as the dog gets near.  I call it her stalker pose

    2) When we wake up in the morning, she looks at me with such sweet eyes, then turns on her back with her little paws straight up, waiting for a stomach rub

    3)  When there are other dogs around, she lets them chase her, round and round in a circle.  only one dog has ever been able to catch her and that dog is four times her size

    4)  When we get to any kind of sand, she puts the side of her face right into it and walks around... a way to scratch her face, I guess... it makes everyone laugh.

    5)  When she finds a nice grass plot she plops right down and sighs in utter happiness, all spread out.

    6)  If she finds a flower she likes (especially lavender) she will stick her little nose right into it and breathe away.

    7) If there is a bigger dog she likes, she jumps right up on her hind legs and hugs the dog's nose with her front paws.

This is just part of the list of cute things she does.  .  . gosh I love her.

Yep! Toby is sooo funny when we put his treats around. I gues I need to start with telling you what we do. When we leave Toby on his own in the house we make a treasure hunt for him and hide his treats. He really love this. One of the places we hide a treat is in a little lounge we have for him. It is sooo funny when he is trying to get it out he just about turns himself inside out to get it. When he finally gets it he gives a little huff as if to say I got it.LOL Also to do with the treasure hunt while I'm trying to put the treats out he is eating them so before we get out the door he has nearly eaten them all. LOL Cheesy

Oh, that is so great!  I do something like that with plastic easter eggs... I hide treats in them, and mm goes crazy... always cracks them open eventually.  And I like to hide her toys. She always finds them, then pretends to ignore them so I can hide them again.  We could play that game for hours.  (a friend of mine said, "Oh, so that's what you do with your day...") Smiley  Is your dog as smart as mine?  It sure sounds like it... once mm has found one of the spots, she always checks there, so she does have a "past" memory.

That sounds great, I never thought of using easter eggs.LOL Toby is also funny when it is time for his walk. I usually take him for a walk around 3:00pm every afternoon. He always nows when it is time, I'm not sure how but I will be sitting at my desk and he starts barking and wineing to tell me come on it's time to take me for a walk. LOL

sometimes I think dogs are smarter than we are.. . . Today Minnie mee hid one of her toys from me. And I had a heck of a time trying to find it!  She's much faster than I am!

I don't think Jemma is a really intelligent dog but love her no matter what.  And she does thinks that make me laugh so hard.  Example. If Jemma is laying next to me and I stop scratching her belly, she will do one of the following.  Either she kicks her back legs hard and makes this grunting sound, (usually she kicks me with those back feet).  Or she will take one of my fingers, just one, put it in her mouth and pull my finger over to her stomach to start rubbing her belly again.

The newest, and this is hysterical, is after she makes a BM.  Once in awhile she might get a tiny piece of poop on her butt.  Now I say to her, Jemma, you have poo poo on your butt?  Let me see.  She comes over, turns her butt for me to see and she turns her head at the same time waiting for me to give her the answer.  I say, no poo poo and she runs back to whatever she was doing.  I laugh sooooo darn hard.  Guess she doesn't like poop on her butt.

That BM stuff was hilarious... sounds like your dog IS smart!

You know, minnie mee does exactly the same thing when I rub her belly!  Must be part of the breed!

She has some lovely tricks to impress children, like high five and play dead.  I would like to teach her some more, but can't think of anything now...
