When i try to clip Miley's nails before i even get the clippers out and start. I always like to see how long they are and as soon as i touch her paw it's like she screams and sometimes nips at me.She was fine with me clipping them when she was a puppy. Any ideas on what to do?
I love dogs!!!

Just keep calm and keep her in your lap. Give lots of reassurance to her, talking softly. If you are getting tense with expecting her to do screaming and nipping, she will sence that. If she nips, tell her NO. Oh and do not grab a lot of nail in, their skin grows over the nail and can be painful, start with trimming bit by a bit. Put a little pressure first to see if she will scream, if she is quiet, then trim. This is how you will know where her comfort zone is. I do this with my both dogs and works. Hope it works for you too...

Toby doesn't like it but he will still let you do it. I find if you regularly touch their paws so they are used to have them touch they protessed less when haveing them cut.
