Hi! I'm new!
« on: July 31, 2010, 03:05:58 PM »
Hello everyone!  I am new to this board.  I hope to get to know you all and your shorkies soon!  My baby is actually referred to as a yorkie tzu.  His mom is a yorkie and his dad is a shih tzu. (I have had a few people tell me that he can't be a "shorkie" because his mom isn't shih tzu and dad a yorkie.)   Anyway, he will be 8 months old on August 6 and weighs 7 pounds.  He is such a sweet little man.  He was neutered this past Wednesday and has done great!  He is now 3 days post-op and unless you knew that he had surgery, you would never know it.  I have not had any trouble with potty training or teaching him commands.  In fact, he was potty trained  by the time he was 14 weeks old and also knew sit, stay and down.  He is wonderful on a leash.  I think I got lucky with him!  He has really been such a joy and I can't remember what life was like before I got him!!

Raley, welcome to the site.  People have told me the same thing about Mai Tai who's mom is a Yorkie and dad is a shih-tzu.  I don't care what they call him, I just love him.  Don't know what they would call Mojito, who's mom and dad are both yorkie-tzu's.  I must say hel looks almost all yorkie though.  These dogs are fantastic, and yours sounds like a great little guy, especially with the housebreaking.  Mai Tai was relatively easy to housebreak, but Mo was really, really difficult.  He still occassionally poops by out litterbox.  Maybe he figures if it is good enough for the cats, it is good enough for him.  Keep posting about your pup.  Love to read the stories.

Thanks everyone!  I will be happy to post pictures.  Is there an album option?  I can't seem to find it if there is!
