As far as buying dog toys, don't you wonder why we bother?  Zoe has a ball patrolling the house, and finding her own toys: doorstops, slippers, magazines (her favorite to shred!), etc.  I follow along, and replace contraband toys with "approved"  :) toys.  She really likes any kind of ball, especially ones with bells inside.

How right you are! And when they advertise a toy you can just think 'oh, my pup's gonna shred that!' ;)
:D I love shorkies, especially T.B. :D

We also have a 4 year old yellow lab, Sandy.  She mainly has training toys for retrievers, like stuffed geese & ducks with honking squeakers, or large balls with heavy-duty ropes through them.  Our shorkie, Zoe, LOVES these "big girl" toys, and almost ignores the small ones I bought for her.  It really is hilarious to see a little 3 lb. dog parading around with a toy that is twice as big as she is, and there are no small parts to detach and swallow.  She can't make them squeak yet, that's an ongoing project!  Even if we didn't have the bigger dog, I still would buy the big toys for Zoe.

I think we have found Mai Tai's favorite "toy" and we are not pleased about it.  It seems we are all finding holes in the crotch of our underwear, where Mai Tai happily chews away whenever he can sneak into the laundry room.....AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!@!!!!!!!

Mai Tai that is what Cody does!! I am always finding underwear with holes in the crotch drives me nutty! I thought he was the only one!
Cody also likes the larger toys better he has a bear that is bigger then him that he "fights" with it's really funny to see him play with it. The only small toy he LOVES is a small kong stuffie bear that we play fetch with. It's the only thing he'll play fetch with, he's and odd dog I swear lol!

Nope, not even close to the only one.  Cash does it too!  Underwear and socks.... what disgusting little puppies we have.  :)
I was also going to say that I've recently gotten Cash Billy sticks.. there was a thread a while back about the best chew toy or something along those lines and billy sticks were suggested.  Did you know they are bull penises???  The dogs loved them, but it seems wrong on so many levels to have my boys chewing on that.   :P

Thankfully Max hasn't tried to chew on our undies. He just likes to sniff them. Socks, however, he loves to play with.

Ok, I have to correct myself, it's a bully stick not billy stick and here is an artical from online about them... as you said Karen, do you laugh or vomit.  :)

Bully sticks, also known as beef pizzles, pizzle sticks, beef sticks, steer stix, are made from 100% bull penises. Bull penis is a single ingredient of bully sticks. Some suppliers and merchants say that they sell bully sticks made of "beef tendons" or "dried muscles" as that part of the anatomy is a tendon and muscle indeeed, and this may sound less repulsive for some people with psychological barrier thinking of feeding bull privates to their furbabies.

In the beginning of manufacturing process the bull's penis that is usually 23-25 inches long, is removed and cleaned. It is hung vertically for the fluids contained to fully drain. Without these fluids bully sticks are odor free. At the next stage of processing bull penises are stretched, twisted or braided, dried and then may be smoked for flavor. The result is a 30-40 inches long very hard brown stick which is cut into pieces suitable for dogs of any size.

OMG Cash that is absolutely gross and hilarious all at the same time. I stopped giving Monty bully stix because I can't stand the smell (and now I know why) I started giving him something called "Beef flossies" which don't smell anywhere NEAR as bad as bully stix and he loves them just as much. It says its made with "beef tendon". Gee I wonder what that means. My boyfriend complains that he spends so much money on toys and what does monty always gets caught playing with? Socks, pencils, and god forbid we leave a water bottle out lol.

I know, just today when I sent the girls in to clean their rooms my youngest came out with a chewed up pencil and my oldest daughter had a chewed up pen which caused an ink stain on her bed spread.  Dirty Devil!  He never used to be a chewer of things, but has just recently been caught chewing on just about anything he can get his paws on.  I hope this too is a phase that shall pass.  He's pretty smart and good about being reprimanded then not trying it again so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

For toys I got Kuma A No Stuffing toy.  It has no stuffing inside for the dog to destroy and eat ... and then try and eleminate!  His is a weasel.  They are great, and he loves it.  The first knot toy that I bought him he destroyed in two days
