Max, I have had Mai Tai cut much shorter than a puppy cut.  He was practically shaved for the summer.  The last time I had it done was in August and he is back to normal now.  I want his coat nice and thick for the winter as we do a lot of outdoor activities.  So I guess it took about 3 months for his coat to come back.  Mo was shaved due to mats that he had when I adopted him.  Now his hair is short but growing in.  He was shaved about the end of September.  Why, did your shorkie get cut too short?

like mai tai, i have roxy cut really short at the beginning of summer in like june and i just got her cut again, not too short but enough where she won't really need to get a full cut through the winter. roxy's hair seems to grow pretty slow to me, but like humans, i'm sure all dogs are different.

For Cody's first cut in June we had it shaved cuz it's so hot here. It was good till a few weeks ago(mid Oct) I had it trimmed just a little cuz it was getting to long. For his body/legs I keep it about 3 inches or so, just enough to keep him warmer.

I had my brother take him for a puppy cut & he told them to give Max a shave HAHA it was kinda funny he looks ten times smaller than he did, hopefully the winter will not be to hard on him, he is now 12 weeks old and doing very good he also had his 12 week booster shots, I am still working on a pic.

Cody gets a puppy cut, at lest that's what the groomer calls it. I just get his face cut short so it's out of his eyes, and under the mouth short. The top I have them leave it longer, and then trim his ears so it's just even with the edge of his ears. Hope that helps...here's a pic of his cut

I get the puppy cut too; they trim around his legs, his ears, his face, etc.
:D I love shorkies, especially T.B. :D

i get the puppy cut for charlie as well but i always ask them to trim his ears shorter too. it makes his face look more round til it grows out. which on him, is about 3 months to be to the point where i have to get him back in!

Bailey is adorable! I love shorkies because they look like Teddy Bears. Monty got his first cut about a month ago. He was practically shaved. Although I thought he was still absolutely adorable, I missed his fluffiness so much. Its only been a month and he's starting to get that cute shaggy fluffiness back into his face and head.
