From what I have read, lots of dogs carry it with no symptoms, and as it can be hard to detect depending on what stage the parasite is at, a lot of dogs go untreated and spread it.  I hope Bailey is over it now.  Mo and Mai Tai seem ok.  Mai Tai is vomiting occasionally from the antibiotic though.

Bailey is over it...thank goodness...it just took 3 different types of medicine to get it out of her system.....the first one made her very sleepy so they stopped it and gave her another.....poor Mai Tai....he may not even have it but he's getting sick from the medicine

Hi Ann,
Thanks, things are getting much better.  Mo has gone 3 days without peeing in the kitchen, though he has pooped twice.  I still see it as great progress though and it gives me hope that maybe he can be housebroken one day.  How are you and Toby?  Hope all are well and thanks for the prayers.

3 days without peeing in the house is GREAT news!  Are the dogs still getting along well?  I'm glad things seem to be getting on track finally for you.

They get along great indoors, but outdoors is a little difficult which is odd as the vet said it should be the other way around.  They should be more territorial indoors in their own space, but for some reason, they are not.  Outdoors, Mai Tai is too rough with Mo.  Mai Tai was always more rambunctious and loud outside though.

Unfortunately, Mo pooped and peed in the kitchen this morning while I was showering, and it was only a half hour after he had pooped and peed outside.  AAAARRRRRGGHHH.  He was barking like a fiend though, so I think he was trying to let me know he had to go, so that is good.  I just don't think my neighbors would have appreciated it if I had run out of the shower naked and taken him outside.  LOL.

How are you?  I don't see you on here as much, which is understandable given you are busy.  Hope all is great.

We are all doing ok. I have been alittle concerned for Toby lately as he has been weezing more than normal. It is probably just because of his extended soft palet it is probably getting bigger which means he may have to have an op. I will wait and see. ???

Oh Ann, I hope he does not need surgery.   I will pray that it does not come to that.  Thinking of you.

Thank you for your prayers and wishes. I must admit i'm a little afraid of taking him to the vet. I'm just seeing how he goes. The biggest thing is that he doesn't choke. He does gag some times and cough but it its only sometimes. The thing is if it becomes more often I don't have a choice. Please don't think it's the money as I don't care about that, He means more to me than money. It's just the thought of him having an op and what he will go through.
Thank you again!!  :)

I hate to have them be in pain, and afraid also.  Especially as you cannot tell them what is going on, so they don't understand you are doing it for their good.  Money is a factor too though.  I feel horrible that if Mo were to need liver shunt surgery, I just could not do it.  I love my pets VERY much, but would have to stop feeding my kids to afford a 5,000 dollar surgery....not gonna happen.

Yes I do agree unfortunatley there is a limit to what you can aford. With our dog that we had before Toby we paid heaps out on medication it use to cost us $500 a month on his medication and that took it's toll on our living expences. At least we only had ourselves as all our children had left home. It did perserve his life for 3 more years but in the end we did have to have him yuthenaised (sorry for the spelling!!) he was 16 years old so he did live a good life. In a way I think we are more human with our animals than we are with humans.

Any way I think we all do the best we can!!! ::)
