Very cute, and what a cool name!  There aren't too many black shorkies on this site.  Glad to hear you're having an easy time with training.  I love these little dogs, I think I'm forever sold on them!

Awww so cute! Cash is right. Rarely do I see a black shorkie, actually there aren't that many shorkies in San Jose. So far I've seen only 3. It's great that she's easy to train. It will definitely make it easier on you.

thanks cash, black is hard to come by in a shokie breed and as soon as i seen her, i was  in love.  ive had her for about a week now and she has only had one accident in the house due to over excitment.  I have heard that usually they change colour when they age do you know any truth to that?? She only weighs 2 pounds at 6 weeks

Yes, that is true.. Cash got a little lighter.  Cash is tricolored black, tan and redish.. He still has black but not nearly as much. Solid black though seems like a true color to me??

she isnt solid black, ive been noticing a chocolate cast develop over her body, so i have no idea what she'll turn out like as a adult..

Meika is soo cute...Congrats...Bailey had black hair over her body when she was very little...she's very blond know....so who knows..the texture of her hair has changed as it grows in as well....she still has the yorkie hair though very fine and no double coat like a shih tzi

What a cutie, she'll probably lighten in color but might still remain dark just not black.  you've had her a week?  Wow, the breeder let her go at 5 weeks?  You are a lucky lady you've had no problems with a young one. I hope she continues to be easy for you.  Only one accident? I should have been so lucky with Jemma., lol  I sure wasn't and I got her at 19 weeks. Thank goodness those days are over.  But whew, what a nightmare for awhile.

no the pic was took at 6 weeks when i got her.. ive had no problems thus far, my cats keeps her company while im away..im crate training her also which helps big time with potty training..and at such a young age, she still knows how to bark to let us kno she neds to go..such a cutie

She is so adorable! I would like to know, how much does she weigh? My puppy, Teddy, weighs 12 lbs and he turned 8 months old today. He was born February 2nd. I got him when he was 7 1/2 weeks old. I hope you feel free and comfortable in sharing your problems with Meika. Sorry if I might end up spelling it wrong sometimes. I will sometimes call you Meika, or Travis. i think most of us got our babies a bit older....bailey was 4 lbs at 10 weeks she's 7 months old and 7 1/2 lbs.....i just love meika's coloring...

I got both of mine at 12 weeks.  It was hard to wait that long, but they really had the chance to be socialized with their moms, dads, and litter mates.
