Shorkie Ears
« on: July 28, 2008, 07:11:25 PM »
Lulu has one ear that is a bit funky.  I know shih tzu breed have the floppy and yorkie breed has the pointed ears.  Recently it started changing from the cute little floppy ear to sort of unsure what it wants to do.  Its sometimes sticks straight up but most of the time it looks funny....not  completely floppy like the other one.

This may be a silly question, but Is there a way to train the ear?

LOl, LuLu's ears sound cute, I love ears that never know if they should be up or down ( my kelpies do the same thing too!!!)
In the Show dog world, I know german shepherd show dogs will put wax or sticky tape on the tips of the ears to get them to stand or fall right. I have also heard of paddle pop sticks taped to the ears to get them to stand up. This can help if left on but not comfortable or fun when the tape rips hair off when removed!!!
Wax on the ear tip would be the same I imagine. But that is the closest thing to training a ear!!!
