What sickness?

It's too early in the morning to call the vet, I will have to wait until 9:00. Teddy has been throwing up and having diarrea for a few days now. I thought that it just might have been one time but nope! He had diarrea again last night, and then at 1 am he did both. I was wondering, does anybody have any ideas of what sickness these symptoms belong to? Thanks!

oh no sooo sorry teddy is sick....not sure what it could be...looking it up on the internet there are sooo many different possibilities...how is he acting and is he eating

Teddy, so sorry and concerned.  Could be different things like something he ate, parasites, bacteria, a virus.....Please let us know how it goes and how he is.

We took him to the vet at 11:00. They said he had a large intestine virus. We have him on antibotics, he had to get a shot, and we have to give him diarrea pills. And no more food for 24 hours. Yeah, I didn't expect that!  But now, he is doing fine. Wish me luck!

Yeah, I am too! I was so worried and I so needed to take him to the vet!  He had really scared me there, but now I know that all will be fine within time.

Bailey has tested positive for Giardia since we got her...but she has never had any symptoms..thank goodness...so far the medicine they have given us has not helped....i'm due to take another sample to the vet this week...i have to wait 4-6 weeks after each batch of medicine to see if it worked.......

Bailey, I am sure you probably know this, but just in case not, please be really careful as Giardia is contagious to humans.  If the pup licks your hands and then you put them to your mouth, you can get it. If he licks your mouth, you can get it too.  Dogs lick their rear ends and some eat poop, so sometimes the giardia is on their tongues.  My doctor thought I had giardia last March.  I was sick for 8 solid weeks, and finally, Metronidazole did the trick and made me better.  Not sure if it was Giardia or Inflammatory Bowel, but I have been fine ever since.  Just want you to be safe.

didn't know that thanks for the heads up...our vet never mentioned it...mad it sound like it was no big deal since she didn't have any symptoms.....ugh......they did say to wipe her butt after she goes...so i've been doing that...

Oh, I never knew that Bailey had that! Thanks for the heads up, even though we don't have it. Teddy didn't throw up or have diarrea last night, so the medicine seems to be working! I forgot to mention that we have to give him these really tiny pills 1 at day and one at night. But he is doing really well and cooperating, so that won't seem to be a problem for the next few days. Hope all is doing well with Bailey and Mai tai and Cody and Cash!

Glad he's feeling better, did they say what might have caused the infection?

                 Well, they said that he might have been stressed out, it could have been his new food that we are mixing in with his old food. That's all that they really said, the two likely things. Sorry I kind of ignored your question there, Cash. Oops!
