DANDRUFF
« on: August 27, 2009, 02:41:38 PM »
HI GUYS MY KEELYN HAS THIS BLACK SORT OF DANDRUFF ONLY IN HIS HEAD AREA. THE VET SAYS ITS NOT FLEAS BUT DANDRUFF AND RECOMMENDS THAT A GOOD VISIT TO THE GROOMER WILL DO THE TRICK. JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY I JUST WONDER IF ANY ONE ELSE HAS NOTICED THIS ON THEIR BABIES. ITS ONLY ON HIS SMALL HEAD, NO WHERE ELSE AS I RUB HIM DOWN EVERYNIGHT AND HAVE EVEN TAKEN ONE OUT AND TRIED TO LOOK AT IT BUT ITS SO SO SMALL. SO I JUST WONDERED IF ANYONE ELSE HAS NOTICED THIS EVER ON YOUR BABIES. THANKS IN ADVANCE. HAVE A GOOD ONE GUYS.

Keelyn is so pretty... I wish Cash had more of that red coloring.  Seems he looses a bit more with every hair cut.  :(  Just so Cash doesn't have hurt feelings I should probably add that I think he's a stud regardless.  :)

Aww thanks Cash is a stud. Yes Keelyns coat is beautiful though, I thought It was going to shed but I haven't had a problem yet. Wish I could give Cash some of Keelyns hair though lol b/c it grows very very fast. Good Day!

I know, their hair does grow so fast!  I've been keeping Cash's hair short for ease on my end, but he needs a hair cut once a month.  I'm getting good practice though as I'm doing it myself.

Well I figured it was worth buying a $40 clippers as that would be the cost of one haircut.  I was not afraid of hurting him, just making him goofy looking.  :)  He too stands very well for me... with the exception of wanting to sit from time to time.  Like with his brushing though I started out trimming him with treats.  If you do give it a try I'm sure you'll have moments of doubt, but it does get easier.  I think the 1st hair cut actually took me a week as I was noticing spots I didn't get well and would redo.  Good luck if you decide to give it a try.. you'll save almost $500/year if you do! :)

Yeh Toby has had dandruff in the past but it has been white not black. I have found that I just have to keep the conditioner up on his hair and that keeps the moisture up on his skin so I son't have the problem mushc any more. :)

I hear you, but I can promise you that you'll be your worst critic.  It took some getting used to.  I've had him since March and there are still some cuts that I don't like right off the bat, but they always grow on me.. how can you think something you love so much can possibly be ugly?  :)

I'd love to trim her face..I don't mind her hair growing longer all over her body....but i don't want her hair in her eyes and my daughter hates how she looks with longer hair on the sides of her mouth  ::) so i'd like to cut that as well..
