I decided to post a poll to see what your shorkie does! And I am allowing you up to 3 votes just in case you have more than 1 shorkie like Karen with Mai tai and Mojito.  Ok, please vote on my poll!
:D I love shorkies, especially T.B. :D

Bailey occasionally nips...when we are playing...but i figure she's going to be just 6 months old so it's a puppy thing...when she does nip..we tell her ..no...give kisses..so she licks us.......i know she's being playful and not being agressive.....we had a cocker spaniel that i had to watch because he could be agressive & bite

Hi
Toby nips when we play rough he gets excited and then starts nipping the backs off our legs or heels when we walk away. Almost as if he doesn't want us to stop Lol ;D

Ozzy nips when he's excited to see us when we get home.  He's 9 months old...ooo...almost 10 months! (time flies).

I wrote earlier that Cash doesn't nip,, however a friend of mine came over yesterday and said that everytime she picks him up he bites her chin, then licks her....

HI!  Well... my name is Krissy, I'm Ozzy's "mom".  We live in Ontario.  We have a family of 5 ... now 6 with Ozzy!  We all just love him to death and already can't imagine life without him.

We've had him for two weeks now and he's just a great addition to the family.

I'm not sure if he was playing "shy" at first but we're really starting to see the PUPPY in him coming out.  He's a bundle of energy.

He's 20 lbs (so kinda big I guess by Shorkie standards).

We got him from a student who was moving to residence locally and wasn't allowed to take Oz with him... Lucky us!

I'm thrilled to have found this board.  It's a great place to get lots of my questions answered by people who are going through the same thing.

I was glad to see others say they have the same issue with the nipping because my little Olivia does that alot especially with my 3 year old but I can tell its just play and not aggression. I'm hoping by telling her NO in a firm voice she will stop but its not looking that way so far.

We taught Mai Tai to "Do Nice," by saying those words to him everytime he licked us and telling him good boy and giving him a treat for it.  Then when he would nip, we would tell him, "Do Nice" and he would lick instead.  Of course, you run the risk of having a dog who won't stop licking you, but that has not happened to us.

Cody's still bad with my 4yr old son. It's usually when they are playing, I'm not sure what it is, maybe the thinks he's more of a litter mate? The rest of us he's fine with(even my 2yr daughter), but I'm always telling Cody no bite with our son. I think I'll try the "do nice". he's already a licking fean so I don't think it can get any worse lol

Hi everyone, I haven't been on in awhile some of you mught remember my story of my beloved shorkie "Romeo" who passes away in July at only 18 months old from a genetic illness, Well after much debate if my family could actually love another pup as much, We are now the proud parents of our new little shorkie "Ozzy" (he came from kansas) at first I was constantly comparing him to "Romeo" however he has similar traits but also his own silly ways too, he was just 3 months on Sunday 9/20 & 4.4 lbs and I must say very smart (but what shorkie isn't) the only problem is his biting and his little teeth are sharp like glass I've tries bitter apple, which he loves, stern no, and most recently a squirt of water from a little spray bottle but he just opens his mouth to lick when i squirt, please any tips to nip this would be apprecaited. Thanks & I will post a pic asap.

I do remember, I'm so glad you were able to find love in another puppy.  It's hard to not make comparrisons I know.  I can't wait to see pics, and hear about all your stories to come.

bat, I am so glad you are trying again.  I wish you all the best with the new member of the family.  The fact that you wanted another is just a testament to how wonderful it was to have Romeo.
