I have noticed that Toby has weepy eyes alot lately and I was wondering if any one else has had the same problem. What do you think I should do? ???

Hi there...
I am new to Shorkie Talk, just joined today.  Lulu is 14 weeks old and a real sweetheart and super cute.  I too have noticed alot of tearing.   I have been wiping her eyes, but it seems to be staining.  I would love to hear if others are having this same problem and what the advice is.
Thanks!

PS  Other issues:  Potty training - goes on potty pads, but also piddles/poops anywhere and everywhere else.  Hyper - wild at times to the point we can catch her.

As far has potty training and the other topic's if you go to some of the other posts you will find there has been quiet abit of help in that area.

Great to have you on board. :D

Oh...thank you.  We think she is pretty precious.  We already are loving having her.  I think she is doing very well so far!  She is only 14 wks old....still a baby right!?!?  From our first night home with her, she has slept in her crate.  NO PROBLEMS at all.  We were thrilled.  She goes to bed about 10pm and my husband gets her up around 6am.  During the day, when we aren't able to keep an eye on her every move, we have a large play pen in our kitchen with a little bed, toys etc.  She is happy, spolied little puppy.  :)

Thanks for your reply!!

I use both tear stain remover and an ointment that has eurythrymicin from the vet. Hope this helps. It helps most of the time, but I stll have to chase her down a lot with the tear stain remover and get those stains off. i just assume she is going to be a weeper. Some dogs do that. I see it often.

My puppy has the same trouble with his eyes. I use a warm cotton ball and soak the goop then take it out with my fingers. I heard they all weep. Not sure why. I also keep his hair short around his eyes.  :'( Poor things!!!
