Mattie has a bump...could it be a hernia?

I had Mattie spayed almost two weeks ago now, and her skin is healing nicely...my friend came over the other day, and asked if Mattie had a hernia where her surgery was. As it turns out, Mattie has a bump under the skin where the scar is.  Any thoughts?  I'm concerned, but don't know if I should take her to the vet.  I'm a strong beliver in "animals are resilient", but what if my girl is hurt?

Sorry...ive got a boy.  Why dont you just call the vet to ask.  I bother mine all the time! 

If it's a concern he/she will ask you to come in.

hello! i had my shorkie spayed as well, at 7 months... and for a while where her stitches were there was a hard bump,  and I was a bit worried but was told it was normal.  It went away in no time at all,  I'm not sure exactly how long it took... but I think it should be fine.  If it lasts longer than a month, I would take her to the vet.  Good luck and speedy recovery Mattie!

Thank you so much for the input!!  I took the advice from stacey15, and called the vet who spayed her.  She said that a hard bump was very normal, and that often times, the skin is just reacting to the sutures.  They said it sometimes lasts for a few months after the surgery.  But thank you, lowrider, for confirming that advice!  I feel much better now.   Ahhh...
