The only time Cash will bark is if he has a toy or something that he can see but can't get out from under the couch.  other than that he's pretty quiet.

Well, sorry to say, Mai Tai barks enough for both of you.  He never barks in the house unless a stranger comes in, but outside he barks at other dogs like he wants to rip their faces off.  If they come near him, he bows to play and gives his belly.  Too funny.

Harley is 17 weeks old and I have only heard him bark twice. Both times it has been when he was playing with a large Weimaraner at puppy kindergarten. He doesn't realize how much bigger the dog is and has a blast playing with him. Otherwise the only noise Harley makes is whining and crying for a few minutes when he is in the crate and we leave the house. I am praying the bark doesn't come because our last dog was a barker like Mai Tai!  ;)

Cody is so so with the barking, he doesn't bark for things outside the house. He has just started(in the last 3 days) to start barking at our cat when she teases him(she'll chase him to the living room then jump up on the couch and lay down so he can't get to her), and he barks at me when I don't get him out of his cage fast enough in the mornings or when I get home. He's crazy!

Hi
Toby didn't bark very much when he was little in fact I think he was about 6 months before I really heard him bark. Toby is now 3 years and 3 months he barks quiet freely now but not enough to annoy anyone. The only thing, I had to stop him from barking at the TV when he saw another dog or a cat. He barked at them as if to say come play with me. He would even walk around the TV to see where the other dogs or cats had gone. I had to stop it though because it was getting that way that you would be watching TV and an add would come on with a dog and he would just jump up and bark and just about make me have a heart attack. Lol :D Needless to say he doesn't do it any more.

All I can add is "careful what you wish for."  Christie will be 2 years old next month and she sees herself as our true and loyal guard dog!!! She guards us, her house, her yard, and of course her entire world.  She barks at noises only she can hear and anyone/thing that comes to the door... her door of course. For some reason the word "no" doesn't mean her. <sigh>

I have noticed that my dog really never barks...

The first bark I ever heard was around 6 months of age, and she barked because she some how got closed in a bedroom and wanted to get out... I remember hearing it and going is that Jolie? Did she just bark? Since then I have heard her bark maybe a few more times all because she was outside and wanted to get inside or to get my attention on something urgent.

Last week, my boyfriend came over pretty late and Jolie and I were snoozing in bed and when she heard him open the door with the key she barked once. I found it so strange.

I love that she does not bark, but she growls like a pro...

Cash still doesn't really bark, though he has started to bark while outside on his leash a bit.  What he does do though is "mouth" at me... he looks right at me and motions that he's barking, but no sound comes out.  Funniest thing, as I do the same thing back to him and then we'll go back and forth "mouthing" to eachother.  It's a lame little game, but we like it.  :)

We have this baby gate that keeps Teddy in the kitchen and the living room, and when we step over it Teddy barks because he wants us back by him. He barks in his crate too, but other than that he is pretty silent. Teddy sometimes barks at my relatives and he nibbles them. But when he barks he really thinks he is a big huge great dane or something! LOL!   :D

I know what you mean Toby doese that as well then he will bark. So now he starts mouthing and I straight away say ARH! and he stops. I think it's their way of communicating.
That's my theory anyway Lol ;D

Bailey so far only barks when we put her in the crate when we are all leaving the house....yesterday i must not have latched it all the way and when my daughter got home a few hours later there she was with the run of the house....everything was fine...so i'm wondering if i should just gate her off in the kitchen from now on...but since she's 5 months old she does occasionally chew on the table leg so just not sure ???
