Sad News, two of the four puppies died this morning.  My friend is sooooo upset.  It seems the mom got an infection in her teats (sp?) so some of them were hard and not expressing milk.  The puppies were fighting over the other ones, and one was not getting enough nutrition.  My friend and her husband were hand feeding the smallest puppy, but he just did not make it.  Mind you, they have their own premature baby home from the hospital on oxygen, so they are exhausted.  The other puppy was big enough and growing but seemed congested.  The vet says he aspirated milk from trying to drink too fast and got pneumonia.  My friend had these pups back and forth to the vet many times trying to save them, but unfortunately, they died.  I feel so bad for her and now I am very worried about the other two pups.  The vet says they seem fine, and the mom is being treated for the infection (I guess it is Mastitis), so they should do well.  My poor friend is beside herself.  Please pray for these pups should any of you feel so inclined.  I just had to share with the group, because I know you guys all understand how sad and worried I feel.  I definitely want one of the pups left, as long as they make it.  My husband is a little more with me now.  Sorry to just vent and depress anyone, but I know you guys will be supportive.  Thanks so much.

Thank you Kim.  I appreciate it.  It goes without saying that we have all been praying about the baby for the longest time.  He was born at 26 weeks on Feb. 16, and only came home from the NICU on May 22nd.  I really trust God and know he will be absolutely fine.  He is a miracle baby.  I appreciate your concern and well wishes.

Oh how horrible.  I'm sure your friend is just beside herself with all the stress she's going through now.  Please keep us updated with any new news.
