;D omg have you seen the new litter of puppies @ pricelesspups omg they even have the budda star like the tzu . I will admit I thought a shorkie was uglywhen I looked at shorkiepark shorkies I was like yuck but when I saw the new litter at pricelesspups I am head over heals in love with the perfect cross . I don't know how they breed them to look better than any other breeder but they have the cutiest shorkies. If I were to get one it would have to come from priclesspups go look at there new pups wow was all I could say . muttpuppies had a write up about the shorkies and at that time I had not seen any that I thought were cute until now I stand corrected. Shorkies are the cutiest if the breeder knows what they are breeding . I found the website for the cutiest shorkies ever this is it http://www.pricelesspups.net./shorkies.htm these babies are the ultimate shorkie. p.s. I do not own a shorkie nor am I a breeder of any thing . I am not plugging anything for shorkieworld but I was so stunned to see these new shorkies that I had to tell everyone to look. They look nothing like other shorkies I have seen . These are everybit worth the money plus their website says they GENETIC test their pets that breed. People akc purebreeders don't do that .. When another website from above says that shorkie is not a breed but JUST A MUTT they are not worthy to breed shorkies if that is how they feel.

I don't know how you could think the Shorkie was ugly before, regardless if it comes from pricelesspups or not.  I believe my boy is the most handsome little bugger out there.  :)  I agree though that pricelesspups do seem to really love what they do, and they stand by the breed.

the shorkies i saw were not from pricless so in my opinion i was alittle apprehensive about a new breed of shih-tzu. If you see the shorkies on the wannabee breeder website you will see why I thought they were not the cutiest new breed in the world. But like anything else once you do research and see who is reputable and who has quality shorkies its priceless that take their breeding to the next level which is genetic testing . I am newbie and thinking of shorkie after seeing their litter on their website

They really are good looking dogs, and they are so much fun.  It's amazing how big they think they are and how brave.  I sometimes worry that Cash will get himself into trouble with the way he runs right up to the bigger dogs as if everyone will love him.  So far I have no complaints with the breed.  He doesn't bark (unless one of his toys rolls under the couch and he can see it, but can't get it), they don't shed, they have enough energy, yet can be so calm, good with kids, smart.  There just isn't enough good things to say.  I personally don't feel like you need to spend $1750 to get the perfect pet.. but as you said they do testing and give a 5yr health gaurantee, pay for shipping, etc so it makes the money seem like it's better spent.  I personally am the kind of person who would rather rescue a dog, then pay for one.. but I wanted this specific breed,  and amazingly couldn't find any that were in need of a home. I'm not surprised by this though as I can't imagine anyone giving them up once you have them in your home.  You are right to be cautious with your breeder as there are some out there that are NOT good.

Pricelesspups does have cute pups, but so do a lot of breeders.  My pup and his littermates was an accidental breeding between a yorkie mom and a shih tzu dad (pricelesspups says mine is not a shorkie because they believe shorkies have shih tzu moms and yorkie dads).  I think they are splitting hairs, though I do understand the bigger dog should be the mom.  My pup is just as cute as any of theirs as are his littermates.  I know they are concerned about more than cuteness.  They breed for health and temperament to, but so do all good breeders.  Wherever you get your pup, just make sure it is NOT from a puppy mill.  You would be surprised at how many internet breeders ARE puppy mills in disguise.  I would not get a puppy from a place I could not personally visit.  They can post all the pics and videos they want and fake anything.  I would want to see the place for myself.  It does make it difficult to get a shorkie though if there are no breeders in your area and you cannot afford to go to  wherever the breeder is.  I think all the pups on this site are beautiful and I don't know if any of them came from pricelesspups.  I do know there is NO WAY I would spend thousands of dollars on a puppy when so many need to be rescued.  I am sure others can afford that price, but with 5 children, i cannot.

I think all shorkies are adorable. The first one I saw at my work wasn't from pricelesspups and is the cutest one I've yet to see(besides my soon to be that is ;)). I'm also not getting mine from pricelesspups and his whole litter was cute, I also didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for him. I'm going to second angie, that you sound like you work for them or something. But anyways, I think shorkies are one of the cutest types of dogs out there.

I wondered about that too (her being a worker there),, when I was looking for a Shorkie I saw the pricelesspup website actually it seemed like over 50% of the info on the net about shorkies is posted by pricelesspups which as I said they seem to really love what they do and put alot of pride in it..... but like Mai Tai my dog came from two friends one with a yorkie and one with a shih tzu.  He's one of the best tempered, healthy dogs I've ever had and he didn't cost that much.  There are people out there who wouldn't spend a dime on our dogs as they are frustrated by the cross breeding.  Yes they are mutts, but they are mutts with a purpose and we wouldn't have it any other way.  :)  I don't want to insult anyone on this site, as I have no idea who bought from where and how much they spent.

Cash, I don't mean to offend anyone either. I feel you make the money you can spend it how you want no questions asked.
I found out about Shorkies from a lady that came into my work with her shorkie and I totally fell in love with him to the point I asked her where she got him, what he was, zillons of questions, so not like me. Then I looked up and found out their temperment and it was the perfect match for our family. We have a small house so a little dog is perfect, and no shedding and lots of energy for 2 young kids.
I was just think that the shorkiesrmyfav was really about the puppies from pricelesspups, it seems odd. I was all over the internet looking for shorkies, and I can tell you there where only a handful that weren't as cute, but I wouldn't say ugly. Anyways, hopefully she gets the shorkie she fell in love with from there, and loves it as much as we do(even if I haven't gotten my baby yet still love him already ;D)

My Benji is the best pet I've ever had. Didn't cost me a dime...he was abandoned. Although I consider him "priceless"  ;)

That's awesome, good for you! Do you know why they abandoned him?  I heard the #1 reason why a small dog ends up in a shelter is because of housebreaking problems.

I heard the same thing, that housebreaking usually breaks the deal when it comes to dogs.  However we all came by our dogs, I take the view that it was meant to be.  My friend never intended to breed her dogs, but her "accident" was my good fortune.  She knew I was interested in a puppy and had been looking at petfinders for rescues, so she thought of me right away when her yorkie was pregnant.  I will be forever thankful to her.  She gave me the dog for nothing and would not even accept money for the vet bills she incurred in giving vaccinations and having the tail docked. (I don't think I would have docked the tail, but her vet recommended it in case they had yorkie tails instead of shih  tzu tails). I did not mean to insult anyone by saying I would not pay thousands for a dog.  I am just not in the financial position to do so, but if others are, good for them.  You could spend your money on a lot worse...LOL.

As far as pricelesspups is concerned, they are all over the internet.  You almost can't find a website about shorkies that is not connected to them.  It feels like a big Monopoly on shorkies...LOL.  I know I am going to want another someday, and have no idea where I will get one.  Just have to trust that if it is meant to be, it will happen.  I don't think my friend will have any more accidents, though she is bringing home a premature baby to her house with 7 dogs and 5 cats this month.  Hmmm, maybe she will give me Mai Tai's brother.  She kept him herself.  He was the tiniest of the litter and is about 6 lbs now while Mai Tai is 13.  She loves her dogs like children though, so I don't think she will be giving one up any time soon.  I know I wouldn't.

Well now that I have written a novel, let me go.  Night all.

Thanks to everyone for understanding my post was not intended nor implied that shorkies are ugly unless they came from priceless I was suprised by their shorkies. I had never seen any as breathtaking as these. I was excited to be corrected on my point of view on shorkies. I was impressed with budda star as the shih-tzu has and the fact that they did seem very different from what I thought a shorkie should or did look like. I of course came across priceless and one called shorkiepark if anyone looks at both websites its very clear that they both disagree fine but I saw the shorkies from each . I thought priceless was on the money as far as what I thought a shorkie should look like . I am not getting payed to plug a website. I just stumbled across it and thought this site would be a great place to start on my search of a shorkie. thank you for making me feel welcome in this website and again I am sorry if I offended anyone or any shorkie. If you don't mind me asking has anyone got a puppy from a website on computer and if so what was your experiences? everyone says do not buy over internet but washington state is along ways to go when they can fly the lil angel.

I found our breeder on Adpost.com just search Shorkies. You can look up by states, too which is great. Most of them you need to call and have them send you pictures, but you can go pick then up yourself and check out the place. It worked great for us cuz we can go pick him up even though he's in a different state the breeder is holding him for us till we go up for vacation in a 2 weeks.
