I feed Sunny Natures Variety Instinct. He loves it! It is a grain free dog food and keeps sunny hair shiny and my little sweetie healthy.

Occasionally to change it up for Sunny I will give him Merrick Turducken Dog Food which when you mix with a little water it adds a little gravy to the food.

Hope that helps :)

i chose blue buffalo because it was available at the pet smart and it was the only one from the better dog foods listed here.  http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/

I feed my little guy blue buffalo (basics) as well. He loves it! Also, its one of the better quality dog foods according to doganalysis.com (as stated from the above website). For variety I switch between the different flavors. One week he'll have the salmon and potatoes flavor and the other week he will have turkey and potatoes. I also add just a hint of warm water to soften. It creates a gravy that he loves.

rocco definitely likes blue buffalo better than the iams that we originally had.  didn't know it was so bad really.  but i've seen the error of my ways.

rocco likes the added water too.  i usually don't add the water, but i noticed he wasn't eating as much and found out it was because he was teething.  the added water softens it up and makes it much easier for him to eat.

My breeder started me on Royal Canaan, which doesn't appear to rate very well on the site provided earlier.  I called my favorite pet store and they like California "something" and Innova?
What about any of those?

Also, thanks for the tips on raw food, including the carrot tip (cleans her teeth).  Love that!  Thanks.

My vet said that the best dog food by far is prescribed food, which is only supplied by a vet (didn't even know that existed!), but in terms of off-the-shelf petstore dog food, some of the better ones (according to her) are (in no particular order): Royal Canin, Eukanuba, and Science Diet.  My breeder fed my pup Royal Canin, so since my lil' fella happens to love it and since my vet recommended it, that's what I'm feeding my Tyson!  :)

Hi, I'm new here.  I just stumbled upon the site and love it!

We switched about 4 months ago from Beneful Puppy to Innova Small Bites.  I can't honestly see any difference.

Our Vet didn't seem to think that the Purina was a bad choice when Lilo was young but I wanted to ensure that she was getting a good quality food now that she's getting older.  I took the advice of a local dog supply shop who felt the Innova was the best food available.  I've read the label and it appears to be good, but who really knows what goes into the food.

I recently read an article that said to ensure the protein came from "food grade" meats.  This would exclude road kill, cats and dogs and farm animals that are too sick for human consumption.  It's just too nasty to even think about!

Eukanuba, and Science Diet are bad dog foods.  Look at their top 3 ingredients, corn, corn, a simple filler which is of no benefical use to our fur babies.
Be kinder than necessary for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
