After reading these posts's I'm going to ask the vet about her teeth when I drop Bailey off on August 14th....I can't tell by looking which of her teeth are still baby ones and which are adult..I know she lost all her front teeth almost at once....looked sooo funny with no teeth there for a few days...but the back ones.. ???

when i brought roxy in to get spayed, they wanted to pull two of her teeth because the adult ones had come in without knocking out her baby ones... i told them no. they ended up both falling out within two months of her surgery.

No offense, but if I were you, I would've let them pull the teeth out just in case because it could cause tooth decay and other problems. I let the vet pull out one of Teddy's teeth because it wasn't going to fall out on it's own.

It is encouraging to hear that Roxy's teeth feel out on their own.  I'm going to sit on it for awhile as well and see if Cash's will also come out.  Fingers crossed.  When I was reading on line about dogs teeth there was a blog on vets cleaning their dogs teeth. There were two seperate posts where people had yorkies and they said the vet did more harm than good with their small dogs.  One person stated that their dogs trachia (sp?) was damaged.

well.... if they hadn't fallen out by the time she was a year, i would have had them yanked. but, it only took two months because they were already a bit lose at the time. thanks though.

Oh, I didn't know that they were already loose. Then I might not've had them pulled either. I would've did what you did in that case.
