I certainly can identify with a love for dogs and all creatures really. Since I was a very young child I have had an instinctive connection with animals. I remember being upset and not understanding why the birds would fly away from me when I only wanted to be friends with them! My parents never understood my love for animals and would often reprimand me for petting a strange animal. I always wanted a new pet. Of course I would really hear it when I would bring the strange animals home!
I do find it sad that Opra says that particular dog was the only one that has ever really loved her. While I often prefer the company of animals over some people I still think there is nothing more important than the love of one human being for another........though it may be hard to find in this world. I wonder what Stedmen thought of that remark!

I agree we need that human connection. Like me and my mom are so close. But what I think is so amazing about dogs that they never judge a person and and they love you so unconditionally. Whereas some humans can make you feel bad and unsecure about yourself, dogs are just there for you and make you feel so loved  and happy. I didn't get to see all of the video because of our computer. What did Ophra say when you said I wonder what Stedman thinks?

She said that after her favorite dog died she learned that the dog was the only one on earth that had ever really loved her. I just think that is kind of sad. I'm sure Opra is one of the most envied persons on earth and many people like her. She has been with Stedman for years. Must be he doesn't really love her though. A dogs love is unconditional. It's just who they are. Humans are much more complex and much harder to deal with. I am not a big fan of her's but I can identify with her liking dogs. I don't think I would buy so many pure bred dogs if I had her money. I would buy a lot of land and give a bunch of homeless animals a place to live a good life. Oh, I could think of a lot of other things to do with that kind of money, too!

In my opinion, Oprah is a drama queen and will say anything for sympathy, attention, and ratings.

I know a lot of people like her but I agree. She has really gone off the deep end. It's a shame that so many people take her word as the gospel truth.

Oh I don't really believe that. She is a drama queen. What about her best friend. She goes on all the time how close they are. She even had her on one of her episodes and they were going on how close they are and showing memories. She just wanted symphety when she said that.

She didn't say her dog was the only one that had ever loved her. She said no one had loved her the way her dog did, and I get what she means. Even I feel that way sometimes bc it is true unconditional love at its core. She's epic, everyone wants something from her. I think people tend to forget that celebrities are people too. They are crucified for every mistake and judged much too harshly and then when they die (like Michael Jackson) the public suddenly mourns them after doing nothing but breaking them down while they were alive. Whether you like her or not, you can't deny the immense work she's done to better the world and for that I respect her tremendously bc not everyone would willingly give away their money the way she does.

I might have been a little harsh there. I just said that the another day to my husband what you just said. When Michael Jackson was alive everybody ridiculed him and made fun of him and kept trying to bring those sexual charges against him. Now that he's dead they just say how wonderful he is. I heard that celebrities get more popular when their dead and that's true. I just did what I said people do. They can be harsh. But dogs do love you unconditionally.

I just watched the clip and yes, that very last comment - If I were Stedman I would just a bit put off.. but that's Oprah...Yes dogs love you unconditionally, and even though I like the woman, I don't take her as Gospel truth like maybe some people do.. But the little soul/big soul was touching... but would I call my little Chewy a teacher?.. I don't think so.. I did get addicted to the series they did with the production staff of Oprah.. Sadie, her apricot cocker spaniel was featured on the show quite a bit and she was really cute.  When they did the end of the season recap and they did a clip on if the Executive Producer didn't like Sadie..that was funny..Can you imagine having an employee at her desk with dog treats just in case your boss's pooch came visiting your office!

Lol that was funny. Dude, I would LOVE to be able to bring Stormy to work. I guess I have to settle for going on the forum when I should be working, like right now ;) Stormy has taught me a lot, but that's probably bc I don't have kids so she is like my kid at this point in my life. She's definitely the biggest responsibility I have.

Raley I'm the same way. My son is sixteen now and Angel is my baby now. I think I  had more nurturing in me and I treat  Angel like a baby. My son teases me and says I like Angel more than him and I said do you want me to start cuddeling you again. And he said get away Mom. LOL

Years ago I had a little Maltese and she was like my baby. I had her before I got married. After I was married for a while my husband started being jealous of her. He always said I cared more about her than him. Of course she was always loyal and kind. I guess some people just don't understand that.
